What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bereavement Specialist Evelyn's House position at BJC HealthCare?
Evelyn’s House is seeking a compassionate Bereavement Specialist to provide in‑person emotional support to patients and families experiencing anticipatory grief in a hospice setting. This role supports individuals of all ages—from children and teens to older adults—using developmentally appropriate approaches, including expressive arts techniques, during an emotionally intense and sacred time.
Working on-site Monday through Friday, with flexibility to meet family needs, the Bereavement Specialist partners closely with the interdisciplinary team to offer presence, stability, and comfort prior to death, with limited follow‑up support after death. Responsibilities also include facilitating grief support groups before and after a death at Evelyn’s House.
This role is ideal for a clinician who values compassion, dignity, and emotional presence, and who brings strong crisis intervention skills and the ability to support families with sensitivity and professionalism in moments that matter most.
Master's Degree in social work, counseling or art therapy are ideal.
