Job Summary

Duties
- Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunication systems including fiber optic cables, copper wiring, and network infrastructure.
- Operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks, cranes, and other construction machinery safely and efficiently.
- Use hand tools and power tools to perform cabling, splicing, and grounding tasks in accordance with schematics and technical specifications.
- Climb utility poles using appropriate safety procedures to access low voltage and high voltage lines for installation or repairs.
- Support the setup and troubleshooting of computer networking systems including LAN (Local Area Network), Ethernet connections, WAN (Wide Area Network), and telephony infrastructure.
- Assist with construction activities related to telecommunication projects, ensuring adherence to safety standards and project timelines.
- Conduct inspections of network infrastructure, perform fiber splicing, and assist in troubleshooting IT infrastructure issues related to telecommunication systems.
Requirements
- Prior experience in field service work involving telecommunication or electrical systems is highly preferred.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks safely and effectively.
- Knowledge of schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals related to network infrastructure.
- Experience with climbing utility poles using proper safety gear and techniques.
- Familiarity with low voltage electrical work, cabling, fiber splicing, LAN/Ethernet wiring, and telephony systems.
- Basic understanding of computer networking concepts including WAN configurations and IT infrastructure components.
- Proficiency with hand tools (e.g., pliers, wire strippers) and power tools (e.g., drills, saws).
- Strong construction skills with an emphasis on safety protocols in outdoor environments.
- Ability to read schematics accurately and follow detailed instructions for system installation or repair.
- Excellent physical condition with the ability to lift heavy equipment and work at heights regularly.
