Position Overview
Join a global Futures Operations team managing end-to-end physical delivery operations across major exchanges. The Delivery Senior Specialist ensures the accurate, timely, and compliant execution of physical deliveries arising from futures contracts. This role coordinates with internal stakeholders as well as clients, exchanges, and clearinghouses to prevent delivery failures and minimize operational risk.
Job Details
- Pay Rate: $60–$70/hour
- Location: Hybrid – local to Chicago, IL required
- Shift: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM CT
- Schedule: Hybrid (3 days/week in-office after training)
- Contract Length: 6 months | Path to Perm
- Start Date: ASAP
Key Responsibilities
Delivery Operations
- Lead end-to-end delivery events including tenders, stops, assignments, and receipts for physically delivered futures contracts
- Manage First Notice Day (FND), Last Notice Day (LND), and Last Trade Day (LTD) timelines across exchange-specific deadlines
- Ensure accurate postings and timely closeout of deliveries in internal systems
- Maintain real-time delivery trackers and clearing system updates for full status visibility
Quality Control & Risk Management
- Review team processing for accuracy and completeness; perform quality checks and approve high-risk actions
- Identify and resolve delivery breaks; escalate material issues to Delivery Manager, Risk, Compliance, or Legal as appropriate
- Support dispute resolution on quantity, quality, pricing breaks, and clearing discrepancies
Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain complete delivery files supporting internal audit, regulatory, and exchange inquiry requests
- Ensure documentation complies with exchange standards, internal controls, and audit requirements
- Contribute to Written Supervisory Procedures (WSPs), checklists, and segregation-of-duties controls
- Respond to exchange and regulatory inquiries with current knowledge of rules, timelines, and cut-offs
Team & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Coach and mentor teammates; provide on-the-job training and job aids
- Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders including clients, exchanges, and clearinghouses
- Flexibility required for public holiday coverage and occasional shift adjustments
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of futures and options operations experience with a deliveries focus
- Hands-on GMI experience and strong reconciliation skills
- Expertise across CME, CBOT, NYMEX, COMEX, and ICE US/EU; familiarity with MIAX, LME, EUREX, and EEX a plus
- Solid understanding of FND/LND/LTD mechanics, delivery elections, and exchange deadline management
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Must be local to Chicago, IL
