Title: Expediting Engineer
Duration: 6 Month contract (Possible Extensions)
Location: Omaha, NE
Description
- This position reports to the
Omaha engineering department and requires the selected candidate to work
with the supply chain to manage purchase order status and expedite
material deliveries to meet internal build schedules for capital pipeline
projects.
- This position is in a
fast-paced and high-volume environment.
- Daily involvement with
multiple suppliers is required.
- The selected candidate must
be able to work in a team atmosphere, handle multiple tasks with competing
priorities, meet critical deadlines and have excellent written and oral
communication skills.
- To be successful, the
individual must be able to develop effective relationships with engineers,
project managers, buyers, management, supplier contacts and other project
stakeholders.
Responsibilities include but
are not limited to
- Develop and manage logistic
plans for assigned projects and the associated suppliers’ purchase order
deliveries.
- Report on status of material
deliveries and logistics plan execution at construction readiness
meetings.
- Expedite materials as
required during construction if not all received prior to starting date.
- Ensure materials and
supporting material documentation are delivered in time to support project
schedules.
- Receive delivered materials
within the Oracle system. Resolve supplier questions / issues associated
with purchase orders.
- Coordinate with material
distribution centers for vendor delivery and contractor material pickup.
- Ensure all supporting
material documentation is received and TVC (traceable, verifiable and
correct).
- Daily coordination with
multiple project teammates, buyers and receiving personnel for resolution
of issues and discrepancies.
Requirements
Position Requirements
- Requires engineering degree
in specific discipline and up to 4 years engineering experience.
- English language
communication skills (verbal, written, reading comprehension).
- Experience with Microsoft
Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Previous experience within a
team environment.
- Highly organized.
Desired Skills
- Experience in Supply
Chain/Procurement/Purchasing that includes purchase order administration
and/or expediting.
- Experience in project
execution.
- Outstanding interpersonal,
customer service skills, telephone etiquette and written correspondence.
- Experience working in a
fast-paced, high volume environment Oracle system experience
Note
- The opportunity to travel to
supplier sites to work delivery expedites or meeting support may be
required while working in this role.
