AI
Solutions Architect
Location:
Hybrid – Arlington, Virginia
Employment
Type: Full-time
BizFirst
is assisting our client with the hiring of an AI Solutions Architect to lead
the design and technical architecture of AI systems that will power a
significant transformation of the organization’s internal operations. This is a
senior technical leadership role for someone who can bridge business strategy
and engineering execution – defining how AI capabilities are structured,
integrated, and scaled across the enterprise.
Our
client is a mid-market professional services organization that is actively
rethinking how it designs and executes its core business operations through
artificial intelligence and automation. The company is building a dedicated AI
capability to embed machine learning and generative AI into its most critical
internal workflows – from decision support and process automation to real-time
analytics and intelligent document processing.
What
will you do
The
ideal candidate brings 8–12 years of technical experience, including a minimum
of 3–5 years designing and delivering AI or ML systems at the enterprise level.
You have the depth to evaluate technology options, design robust and scalable
architectures, and guide engineering teams through complex implementation
challenges. Equally important, you communicate clearly with senior business
stakeholders – translating technical decisions into language that drives
organizational alignment and investment decisions.
Responsibilities:
• Lead
end-to-end architecture design for the organization’s AI platform, including
data pipelines, model infrastructure, integration layers, and enterprise
systems connectivity.
• Evaluate
and recommend AI technologies, cloud platforms, LLM providers, and tooling that
align with the organization’s technical environment and operational
requirements.
• Define
reference architectures and design patterns for recurring AI use cases,
establishing standards that accelerate development and reduce technical risk.
• Partner
with business and operations leaders to understand strategic priorities and
translate them into AI architecture decisions and implementation roadmaps.
• Provide
technical oversight and guidance to ML engineers, data scientists, and
integration developers throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Lead
technical discovery engagements with internal stakeholders, assessing
current-state systems, data assets, and integration requirements for AI
solutions.
• Design
security, governance, and data privacy controls into AI systems from inception,
ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
• Represent
the AI platform’s technical vision in senior leadership forums, providing clear
architectural guidance and managing expectations around complexity and
timelines.

8–12 years of technical experience, with 3–5 years in an architecture role for
AI, ML, or large-scale data systems.

& ML Architecture: Demonstrated experience designing production AI systems,
including model serving infrastructure, data pipelines, and integration with
enterprise applications.

Platforms: Deep proficiency with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure,
or GCP) and hands-on experience with managed AI/ML services (SageMaker, Vertex
AI, Azure ML, or equivalent).

Working knowledge of large language model deployment patterns, including RAG
architectures, LLM orchestration frameworks, and enterprise integration
strategies.
Communication:
Ability to produce clear architecture documentation, lead design reviews, and
present technical strategies to executive audiences.

Experience
architecting AI solutions in a professional services, financial services, or
enterprise consulting context.
