We’re a family-owned bakery looking for a dependable, friendly, and hardworking Bakery Assistant to join our team. We take pride in creating a warm, welcoming environment for both our customers and our team. Our bakery has busy rushes throughout the day, with quieter periods in between where we focus on prepping, cleaning, stocking, and keeping everything running smoothly. We’re looking for someone who enjoys staying productive, takes initiative during slower moments, and is genuinely kind and patient. Since we’re a family-run business and our young child is often at the bakery, it’s important that you’re comfortable working in a family-friendly environment. If you enjoy helping customers, working as part of a close-knit team, and taking pride in a job well done, we’d love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
● Assist with preparing, packaging, and labeling bakery products.
● Stock display cases and keep products attractively presented.
● Greet customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, welcoming service.
● Operate the cash register and process transactions accurately.
● Keep the bakery, kitchen, and work areas clean, organized, and well-stocked.
● Wash dishes, utensils, and bakery equipment.
● Restock supplies and notify management when inventory is running low.
● Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
● Support the bakery team with daily prep work and other tasks as needed.
Qualifications
● Customer service or food service experience is a plus but not required—we’re happy to train the right person.
● Friendly, patient, and enjoys working with people.
● Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as with a team.
● Self-motivated and able to stay productive during slower periods.
● Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
● Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
● Availability to work mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
