Duties
- Assist with landscape installation including planting trees, shrubs, flowers, and installing hardscape features such as patios and walkways
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely to perform tasks like mowing, trimming, edging, and pruning
- Maintain lawns through mowing, edging, aeration, fertilization, and irrigation system adjustments
- Support landscape maintenance activities such as weed control, mulching, and soil preparation
- Use excavators and other machinery for site preparation or excavation projects under supervision
- Perform seasonal tasks including snow plowing and ice management to ensure safe access during winter months
- Conduct routine inspections of landscapes for health issues or safety hazards and report findings promptly
Experience
- Prior experience in landscaping, gardening, or groundskeeping is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates
- Knowledge of horticulture principles and plant care techniques is a plus
- Familiarity with the use of hand tools, power tools, and small machinery such as excavators is advantageous
- Mechanical knowledge related to equipment maintenance and troubleshooting helps ensure smooth operations
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions with physical stamina to perform manual labor effectively
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship in all tasks undertaken
