Overview:
We’re looking for a senior mobile engineer to design, build, and ship high-quality iOS and Android features in a large-scale monorepo environment. You’ll work across native (Swift/Kotlin) and React Native, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and optimize build/test pipelines using Amazon/AWS-oriented tooling.
Key responsibilities:
- Own end-to-end mobile feature delivery across iOS and Android (design, implementation, testing, release, and monitoring)
- Build and maintain React Native features and native bridges/modules in Swift and Kotlin
- Contribute to a large monorepo: modularization, dependency management, incremental builds, and code health
- Improve app performance, reliability, startup time, memory usage, and battery efficiency
- Set up and enhance CI/CD pipelines and mobile release processes (beta, canary, phased rollouts)
- Write robust unit, integration, and UI tests; enforce code quality and review standards
- Partner with Product, Design, and Backend to shape technical solutions and delivery plans
- Ensure accessibility, security, privacy, and compliance with App Store/Play Store guidelines
- Instrument analytics, logging, and crash reporting; drive data-informed iteration
Must-have qualifications:
- 6–9 years professional mobile development experience
- Strong hands-on expertise with Swift, Kotlin, and React Native (deep in at least two; working knowledge of the third)
- Solid command of iOS and Android SDKs, app lifecycles, navigation, and UI frameworks
- Experience in large monorepo codebases and comfort with Amazon/AWS-oriented build and delivery tooling
- Proficiency with modern architectures and patterns (MVVM/MVI/Redux), dependency injection, and modular app structures
- Concurrency and async programming (Kotlin Coroutines/Flow; Swift async/await, GCD, or Combine)
- Networking and data layers (Retrofit/Alamofire, REST/GraphQL), local persistence (Room/Core Data/SQLite)
- Testing frameworks: JUnit, Mockito, Espresso; XCTest, XCUITest; Jest/Detox for RN
- CI/CD and build systems: Gradle, Xcodebuild; experience with Fastlane and common mobile distribution flows
Nice to have:
- Experience with Bazel/Buck or similar large-scale build systems
- Familiarity with AWS/CodeBuild/CodePipeline or equivalent cloud CI
- SwiftUI and/or Jetpack Compose; native-RN interoperability and performance tuning
- Analytics and monitoring (Firebase, AppCenter), crash reporting (Crashlytics), feature flags/remote config
- Security best practices (cert pinning, secure storage, OWASP MASVS), offline sync, and complex mobile integrations (payments, push, deep links)
- Accessibility, internationalization, A/B testing
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience
