Company Overview

Hybron is a defense technology startup pioneering a new manufacturing process for fiber-reinforced polymer composites that enables complex parts to be produced with greater strength, lower cost, and at 10 - 100x the speed of traditional methods.

We were backed by the Northrop Grumman Technology Accelerator, and we have been the first to successfully develop composite compressor blades that were successfully tested in a fighter jet engine. Our current focus is applying our proprietary process to artillery shells, drone airframes, and gas turbine component production.

If you want to join a fast-growing company that is solving mission-critical needs for the warfighter while reshoring U.S. manufacturing, then we want to speak with you.

About the Role

You’ll collaborate with the engineering team to provide manufacturing feedback, help manufacture and repair tooling as needed, and support the build of high-end composite assemblies.

You’ll take ownership of machining operations end-to-end, from CAM programming to setup and machining, ensuring timely delivery of high-precision molds and prototype parts. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, communicates clearly, and thrives in a high-accountability shop environment.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of CNC machining experience
  • Bonus: Mold making, high-precision, or 3D surfacing
  • Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (Onshape, Autodesk Fusion CAM, or equivalent)
  • Experience with CNC vertical machines and CNC lathes
  • Ability to read and interpret CAD/CAM models, GD&T, and technical drawings
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • U.S. Person status pursuant to EAR and ITAR definitions

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-end molds and prototype parts on fast timelines
  • Manage full process from CAM programming to setup and machining
  • Collaborate with engineering to provide manufacturing feedback and ensure designs are optimized for production

  • Communicate project timelines, setbacks, and updates clearly
  • Perform tooling selection, setup, and optimization for composites and metals
  • Maintain and calibrate shop equipment
  • Help keep a clean, organized, and professional work environment
  • Develop and refine CAM templates and fixturing methods for scalable production

Growth Opportunities

  • Contribute to machine and tooling acquisition for high-end and mass-production work
  • Help define machining best practices for Hybron’s next scale-up phase
  • Gain exposure to advanced composites manufacturing workflows
  • Potential to grow into Lead Machining Technician or Manufacturing Engineer roles
