Tester - Only Locals to Albany or NY

• Project Description: A multi-year program effort to redesign, implement, and test business process improvements to replace 40 year old Unemployment Insurance legacy computer systems with a new integrated computer system.
• Position Title: Tester
• Skill Level: Senior (60–84 months of experience; able to work independently and provide guidance)
• Engagement Length: 30 Months
• Work Arrangement: Full-Time (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, negotiable) with 50% telecommuting allowed.
• Physical Location: State Offices Harriman Campus, Building 12, Albany, NY 12240
• Interview Format: Webcasting (Candidate required to be on camera)

• Design and develop test artifacts including Test Strategy documents, Test Scenarios/Cases, Traceability matrices, Functional Test Plans, and User Acceptance Test plans.
• Create SQL queries to verify backend tables are correctly populated and acquire test data.
• Analyze business/technical requirements and participate in meetings with Business Analysts, Developers, and Architects.
• Execute functional test cases, analyze failures, and report defects using HP ALM/QC, JIRA, Selenium, and SoapUI/Postman.
• Conduct automation testing, create/maintain automated test scripts using Selenium (Java, SQL), and lead automation team members.
• Validate screens for Web Accessibility Compliance (American Disabilities Act compliance).
• Train and mentor State Staff in specialized testing skills.

• Experience Level: 60–84 months of experience as a Tester. Must be capable of conducting automated and manual tests to ensure software meets user requirements, developing technical/project documentation, and working independently while providing guidance to others.

• 60 months of experience as a lead tester writing and executing Test Scenarios/Cases, Traceability matrices, Functional Test Plans, and User Acceptance Test plans (Max: 20 Points).
• 60 months of experience utilizing Selenium WebDriver, Java, J2EE, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Eclipse IDE (Max: 24 Points).
• 60 months of experience writing SQL queries to validate backend data processing and creating test data (Max: 20 Points).
• 48 months of experience using GitHub, Maven, Jenkins, and familiarity with CI/CD processes (Max: 10 Points).
