Remote Work: 40% remote allowed after an initial 4 months of 100% on-site training and access configuration.
Position Overview
This position is housed within the Tax Modernization Operations Team, specifically embedded with the scheduling and automations unit. As an Expert IT Specialist, the selected candidate will play a pivotal role in a multi-year initiative dedicated to modernizing the IT infrastructure, applications, and day-to-day operations of the NYS Tax Department through robust workload scheduling and automation solutions.
Mandatory & Technical Qualifications
- Experience Level: 84 Months (Expert) with extensive industry experience and the ability to provide guidance to large teams.
- IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS): 84 months of experience using and administering IBM Workload Scheduler (formerly Tivoli Workload Scheduler) within a z/OS mainframe environment.
- Dynamic Workload Console (DWC): 84 months of experience using and administering IBM DWC for enterprise workload administration and operational monitoring.
- Mainframe Operations: 84 months of hands-on knowledge regarding IBM z/OS operations, JCL, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, and core batch processing concepts.
- Automation Concepts: 60 months of experience working with automated scheduling components including calendars, dependencies, critical paths, and event-driven workflows.
- Production Support: 60 months of experience troubleshooting batch processing failures and performing active production support.
