Night Shift Production Manager
Location: BITEC Morrilton
Shift: Night Shift 7pm - 7am
Reports To: Operations Manager
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Night Shift Production Manager to lead our production, shipping, and maintenance operations during the night shift. This position is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and productive operations while providing leadership and direction to supervisors and team members. The ideal candidate will have prior management experience in a manufacturing environment and be comfortable working nights, weekends, and extended hours when needed.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & Leadership
- Oversee night shift operations to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
- Develop and implement plans to improve operational performance.
- Direct and support production supervisors in their daily responsibilities.
- Ensure adequate staffing and schedule coverage across departments.
- Evaluate employee performance and provide coaching and development opportunities.
- Recruit, train, and onboard new employees as needed.
Production & Quality
- Monitor production processes to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Collect and analyze operational data to reduce quality issues, scrap, and waste.
- Review Daily Production Reports (DPR) and address operational concerns.
- Assist with inventory counts and inventory management activities.
Maintenance & Safety
- Assist with maintenance tasks as needed.
- Create maintenance work orders and coordinate repairs.
- Perform routine equipment safety inspections.
- Lead employee safety training and reinforce safety compliance.
- Lead policy and procedure training for employees.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and company safety regulations.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Review and approve employee time records weekly.
- Complete reports and documentation accurately and on time.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsRequired Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or management experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of production, shipping, and maintenance operations.
- Experience leading teams on off-shifts or night shifts preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership and employee development skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and counting.
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of federal and company health and safety regulations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace applications.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to repeatedly lift up to 120 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders.
- Ability to work in hot and humid environments (up to 115°F).
- Ability to stoop, bend, and crouch for brief periods.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and extended hours as operational needs require.
Safety Requirements
- Must understand and comply with all job-specific hazards and safety regulations.
- Required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) based on assigned tasks.
- Must actively promote and maintain a culture of workplace safety.
