Risk Manager

Bitcoin Depot is seeking a Risk Manager that will serve as the strategic architect of the credit and fraud frameworks for ReadyBucks, our new merchant capital and gig-economy funding platform. You will lead the development of data-driven underwriting strategies, balancing aggressive growth with disciplined risk mitigation. Your expertise will ensure that as we empower small businesses and independent contractors with accessible capital, we maintain the financial integrity and long-term stability of the ReadyBucks ecosystem.

Bitcoin Depot is the largest Bitcoin ATM Network in the world offering users the ability to buy and sell Bitcoin at thousands of BTM and BDCheckout locations. We currently trade on the NASDAQ under the ticker symbol BTM.

Responsibilities

• Portfolio Strategy: Design and oversee the end-to-end risk lifecycle for ReadyBucks, including credit policy, underwriting standards, and limit management for Merchant Cash Advances (MCA).
• Fraud Prevention: Implement and manage advanced KYC/KYB workflows and real-time fraud detection tools to safeguard the platform against identity theft and synthetic fraud.
• Monitoring & Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track delinquency, default rates, and recovery performance, providing regular deep-dive insights to the executive leadership team.
• Continuous Improvement: Regularly audit existing risk models and automated decisioning logic to optimize for both conversion and loss-reduction in a fast-paced fintech environment.
  
  

Qualifications

• 5 years in risk management, specifically within fintech lending, Merchant Cash Advances, or alternative small business financing.
• Advanced expertise in data analysis tools (SQL is required; Python or R is preferred) and experience with automated underwriting software.
• Proven track record of building risk frameworks from the ground up and scaling them within a high-growth startup or corporate innovation environment.
• A deep understanding of the unique financial challenges and risk profiles associated with the gig economy and independent contractor workforce.
• Ability to translate complex quantitative data into clear, actionable business strategies for non-technical stakeholders.
