Bit of Hope Ranch is a complete equine assisted therapy center that utilizes mental health counselors and therapeutic riding instructors to provide programs for spirit, mind and body. The 50 acre ranch offers outdoor therapy spaces as well as covered arenas and a Wellness Clinic.
Bit of Hope Ranch is seeking a skilled, safety-minded riding instructor to join our team.We have been serving the greater Gastonia area for over 16 years and are the area's leading equine assisted therapy center.
Responsibilities
- Teach English and Western fundamentals, guiding riders of all ages
- Support horsemanship and barn safety
- Share testimonials with staff and the development board as needed, to increase fundraising efforts
- Uphold and model the values of integrity, compassion, faith, safety and excellence in all client and team interactions
- Help advance our mission to reach, rescue and restore through equine-assisted programs
Qualifications
- 2 years experience teaching riding lessons
- Strong problem solving and communication skills
- Calm teaching style
- Solid experience working with both horses and youth
- PATH or CHA certifications are preferred
- Must be over 21 years old
- Strong emotional intelligence skills
- Ability to work Wednesdays and Saturdays
- Ability to commute to Gastonia, NC
- Ability to work in outdoor spaces in a variety of weather
- Love of horses and other farm animals is a must!
