Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food production and kitchen management, demonstrating strong leadership capabilities while assisting the Head Chef in delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role requires a proactive approach to team management, inventory control, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety. It is the intention, that this position be groomed into a Executive Sous Chef
Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and directing food preparation and culinary activities.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations.
- Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels.
- Oversee food production processes to ensure consistency and quality across all dishes.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and improve existing offerings.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment.
- Participate in banquet preparations, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality meals for events.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team atmosphere.
- Assist with bartending duties as needed during events or busy service periods.
Experience
- Proven experience in a culinary role, preferably as a Sous Chef or similar position within a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong knowledge of food service operations, including culinary techniques and kitchen management practices.
- Experience in team management, with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse group of culinary professionals.
- Familiarity with inventory control processes and best practices for maintaining stock levels.
- Background in banquet service is highly desirable, along with experience in menu development.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
