The Senior Project Manager is accountable for the successful delivery of construction projects. Prior professional experience requires hands-on management of technical and managerial tasks associated with ongoing projects. Preferred professional work experience includes work on other large rail, transit or construction projects ranging from $15M to $100M, including railway signal upgrades, communications, systems integration, rail-civil interfaces, facility improvements, and testing/commissioning packages. The Senior Project Manager leads multi-disciplinary engineering, construction, and testing teams while managing client expectations, contracts, risks, change orders, and schedule-critical outages. The Senior Project Manager leads by example and maintains a strong field presence and sharp commercial instincts and drives complex rail projects to revenue service.
Essential Job Duties Include:
- Serve as the primary leader for all phases of delivery on capital projects within the $15M to $100M range.
- Manage day-to-day coordination with CPM, Signal Engineering, client facing role.
- Ensure strict adherence to specifications, project procedures, and standard drawings.
Develop and maintain detailed P6 schedules for construction, flagging, testing, and cutover activities.
4. Secure and manage track access, FASTRACK windows, GO/rail service diversions, and coordinated outages. Lead detailed planning for weekend outages, night work, live track activities, and cutover milestones that are schedule critical.
Required Education and Experience:
- Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field.
2. Five (5) years of project management experience in rail/transit infrastructure.
3. Proven success delivering $15M to $100M construction or systems projects in active transit environments.
4. Experience managing outages, flagging, track access, and field operations in constrained rail settings. Ability to anticipate potential issues and plan solutions.
Required Certificates, Licenses and Registrations
PMP Certification
Valid US Drivers License
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Direct and manage the entire project, guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies, and a primary liaison between Bison and client interface.
- Accountable for all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.
- Project management including but not limited to budgeting/schedule stage, procurement, change orders, claim avoidance, contract admin, and cost control through contract closeout.
- Familiarity with large rail road processes, Rail Control Center (RCC) coordination, GEC/RCI interactions, flagging rules, track access constraints, and the unique requirements of building in a live transit environment.
Strong technical understanding of signal systems, communications, civil/structural interfaces, and testing/commissioning.
5.Ability to manage night/weekend work and be present for critical outages and cutovers. Strong time management skills, meet deadlines as well as budget.
Preferred Qualifications
- The Essential Duties require communication, analytical, and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field.
- Proven success delivering $15M to $100M construction or systems projects in active transit environments.
- Experience managing outages, flagging, track access, and field operations in constrained rail settings.
- PE license

Additional Requirements
Employee must:
- Pass a background check.
- Pass a drug screening, i.e. negative result.

Working Environment
Active railroad bridge construction environment. Work location is a construction field trailer as well as active construction zone in the NYC area.
Smoking is prohibited in the workplace.
