As a Bookstore Assistant, you'll support Team Store operations during home games, assist customers, and gain valuable customer service and retail experience in a fun, fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do
You will be responsible for assisting the bookstore manager and bookstore associates with daily or evening operations of the Bookstore, Monday-Friday and evenings for home sporting events and possible weekends (depending on home game dates), part-time, approximately 19 hours per week.
Houlry Rate: $16.00/hour
Additional Responsibilities:
Provide sales and customer service which includes greeting customers when they enter the Bookstore and selling Bookstore merchandise during the day and/or evening hours
Answer the phone and field questions, etc.
Maintain good public relations while working with faculty, staff, and customers
Handles monetary functions, includig cash, security and use of point-of-sale system
Maintains supplies and overall cleanliness for all stores (which includes cleaning and upkeep of equipment).
Assists with store promotional evenets and sales.
Supports innovation, creativity, and ideas to improve/enhance processes, functions, etc. in the department and as a whole for the college
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Two years of retail experience
Excellenet interpersonal skills, demonstrated positive customer service skills, and ability to relate to people of varying ages and backgrounds
Good computer software skills - Microsoft Office Suite, email, and electroniic calendar (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook).
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple projects.
Ability to work indepdently and handle interruptions
Ability to lift 50 pounds (essential function).
Preferred Qualifications:
More than two years of related customer service experience
High school diploma or GED
Currently enrolled student at Bismarck State College
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to understand and follow instructions
