Bismarck Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to serve as the Head Cheer Coach at Bismarck High School for the 2026-2027 school year.
The Head Cheer Coach will be responsible for leading and developing a positive, student-centered cheer program that promotes school spirit, teamwork, and athletic excellence. This position requires strong leadership, organization, and communication skills, along with the ability to build relationships with student-athletes, parents, and school staff.
Responsibilities include organizing and conducting practices, coordinating game and event performances, promoting sportsmanship, ensuring adherence to school district and NDHSAA rules, and fostering a culture of accountability and pride within the program. The coach will also oversee assistant coaches, assist with program development at lower levels, and support the overall mission of Bismarck High School activities. Previous coaching experience and knowledge of cheer techniques, safety standards, and program management are preferred.

Qualifications
- Previous experience coaching cheerleading at the high school, collegiate, or competitive level preferred.
- Strong background in cheerleading techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire athletes.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and a commitment to fostering a positive team culture.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices for cheerleading activities.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the team's schedule.
- Current certification in CPR and first aid will be required
- Ability to pass a background check and meet all requirements for employment in the school district.
