POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the daily operation and success of food service by preparing quality products that adhere to our standards. Daily duties include prep, preparing menu items and specials, stocking, and cleaning. Must be able to work various shifts and outlets assigned by management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Prepare daily specials and cooking menu items. Restock food items used in daily cooking routines. Report to manager when items are low or out.
- Maintain defined standards of sanitation and safety for personnel, food preparation and kitchen equipment.
- Food preparation, in accordance with standardized recipes and food services methods.
- Maintain serving customers quickly, but without losing quality. Plate presentation must be of excellent quality, (garnish, not sloppy, etc.).
- An excellent appearance is always dictated and demanded. Must always be in proper uniform and always be friendly and courteous. Long hair must be worn back.
- Know and be aware of the policies and procedures of the Wanaaha Casino.
- Poor attendance or a poor attitude will not be tolerated. Must be cooperative with all departments assisting wherever necessary.
- Help keep casino neat and clean. During tours and while at duty station, employee will assist in enforcement of casino cleanliness policy by picking up trash and depositing it in receptacle and assisting in the cleanliness of the casino.
- Be able to prepare, portion, and cook food accordingly.
- Ensures stations be prepared to meet anticipated levels of business for the day, assisting fellow staff when needed.
- Follows all appropriate procedures and works under supervision of culinary management team.
- Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordinate with other departments.
- May occasionally interact directly with guests.
- Shut down and or clean assigned areas as required.
- Attends all mandatory meetings.
- Other duties as assigned as assigned by management.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma, HSED, or GED is preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must have two (2) years’ experience as a Line Cook in a full-service restaurant.
- General knowledge of food and safety sanitation standards.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Be able to lift heavy items.
- Know the entire menu and be able to follow recipes.
- Be able to use various types of kitchen equipment.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Able to hear and speak effectively in a noisy environment.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- ABC (Alcoholic Beverage Control) Training is mandatory within the first 30 days of employment.
- A Food Handler’s Card is mandatory within the first 30 days of employment.
- Must pass Title 31 within first 30 days of employment.
- Handling food, objects, products, utensils and knives.
- Standing up and moving about in the kitchen in a safe and efficient manner.
- An excellent appearance is required and must always be in proper uniform and always be friendly and courteous.
- Long hair must be worn back.
- Must possess ability to interact with the public and fellow Team Members, demonstrating respect, and tact, courtesy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters.
- Must be detailed oriented.
- Must be able to work various schedules, on an as-needed basis; as work schedules could vary and will involve day, evening, or nighttime hours during the week and/or on weekends.
- Ability and willingness to attend additional training is required.
- Must meet requirements to qualify for a Bishop Paiute Gaming License. Must pass an extensive background check.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test
