RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support and uphold the mission, values, and teachings of the Catholic Church and the Catholic identity of Bishop McVinney School in word and deed.
- Facilitate student success and growth through strong classroom leadership, high academic expectations, effective instruction, and a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment.
- Design, plan, and implement standards-based lessons, learning activities, assessments, and instructional strategies that meet the diverse needs of learners and maximize instructional time.
- Utilize student data, including standardized assessment results, to monitor progress, differentiate instruction, and support academic achievement.
- Guide students in their academic, social-emotional, and spiritual development while maintaining consistent expectations for positive and productive behavior.
- Establish and maintain classroom management practices that promote a functional, supportive, and orderly learning environment.
- Administer standardized assessments in accordance with diocesan and school requirements.
- Communicate regularly and professionally with families regarding student progress, academic performance, and behavioral development.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, administration, and the principal to support student learning and advance school goals.
- Demonstrate strong content knowledge, instructional expertise, professionalism, integrity, organization, and planning in all aspects of the role.
- Participate in school-wide responsibilities and events, including arrival and dismissal duties, parent-teacher conferences, faculty meetings, professional development, and other school activities as assigned.
- Pursue ongoing professional growth through professional development opportunities offered by Bishop McVinney School, the Diocese of Providence, and other approved organizations.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding students, families, personnel, and school matters.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Principal.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree required (Certification in early childcare or degree in childhood development preferred)
- Relevant previous experience preferred
