Bishop Luers High School in Fort Wayne is seeking qualified applicants for the position of (tentatively entitled) Assistant Principal for Leadership & Organization. The start date of the position is July 1, 2025, or as soon as possible thereafter.
The Assistant Principal for Institutional, Student, and Professional Success serves a multifaceted role and is a key member of the School’s Leadership Team. The individual will be responsible, along with the Assistant Principal and Principal, for monitoring and enhancing the quality of instruction while enhancing opportunities for student success.
The position is also responsible for collaborating with other members of the Leadership Team in the overall professional formation and evaluation of instructional personnel. Finally, in support of Admissions and Enrollment Management operations, the position will play a key role in collaborating on Admissions decisions, initial student academic placement, and ensuring that entering students’ transitions to Bishop Luers are successful.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Bringing a parent and student service focus to their responsibilities.
- Maintaining and running the Media Center for students, staff and collaborating with the feeder schools and other high schools within the diocese in regards to the Media Center.
- Collaborating with the Principal and the Assistant Principal on teacher evaluations.
- Directly overseeing and evaluating Guidance, College Placement, and Registrar operations.
- Collaborates with the Principal and Assistant Principal for Academic Affairs in planning and facilitating professional formation opportunities for instructional staff.
- Monitoring new student progress through a student’s first year at Marian to assist with transition issues, to monitor academic progress, and to assist in facilitating/supporting in the academic, cocurricular, and spiritual life of the Marian community.
- Overseeing Luers' adoption of a new accreditation protocol.
- Supports and enforces School and Diocesan policies as well as Safe Environment guidelines, safety protocols, and local, state, and federal laws.
- Reflects and supports the uniquely and faithfully Catholic identity of Bishop Luers High School.
- Willing and able to be present for supervision of after school events and extra-curricular activities.
- Collaborates in the development of the school’s calendars, master schedule, and overall policies.
- Fulfills additional duties as may be assigned by the principal.
Qualifications
- An undergraduate degree in a relevant subject area
- A graduate degree in a relevant subject area
- Indiana school leadership licensure
- A practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church
- A desire to work with, to find joy in interacting with, and the ability to collaborate with adolescents on issues related to their programs, interests, and personal future path development.
