The Opportunity
Bishop Feehan High School is seeking an Academic Resource Center (ARC) Instructor to lead our general-education academic support program. This role teaches students explicit, transferable strategies in study skills, organization, time management, and self-advocacy — building the habits that help students succeed independently, not just in the moment.
This is a general-education support role (not special education) grounded in our Mercy charism: high expectations paired with genuine respect for each student's capacity to grow in agency, persistence, and resiliency.
What You'll Do
• Teach small groups in the ARC (1–8 students) explicit strategies for organization, time management, note-taking, writing,studying, and test preparation.
• Teach 1-2 Study Skills semester courses to freshmen.
• Build individualized learning plans and track student progress toward independence.
• Coordinate peer tutoring and support students returning from medical, emotional, or extended absences.
• Serve as a liaison between students, teachers, and counselors on academic progress.
• Partner with classroom teachers each quarter to track student growth and inform transition planning.
• Participate in Student Support Team meetings.
What We're Looking For
• Bachelor of Arts degree.
• Prior teaching experience in an academic resource center or classroom preferred.
• A collaborative, relationship-driven approach with students, families, and colleagues.
• Strong organizational skills and comfort with routine documentation.
