Job Title: Engine Repair Coordinator
Position Summary
The Engine Repair Coordinator oversees the scheduling, tracking, and coordination of all repair activities for commercial turbine engines and components. This role ensures timely completion of work scopes, maintains communication between customers, repair vendors, and internal departments, and monitors quality and compliance with FAA, EASA, and OEM standards.
Key Responsibilities
Coordination & Scheduling
- Coordinate engine part repairs with internal shop teams and external vendors.
- Develop and maintain repair schedules to meet TAT (Turnaround Time) commitments.
- Prioritize work based on customer requirements, contractual obligations, and operational impact.
Tracking & Documentation
- Track repair orders from receipt to delivery using ERP/MRO software (e.g., Smart145).
- Maintain accurate job records, workscopes, and status updates.
- Ensure all airworthiness documentation (8130-3, EASA Form 1, OEM certs) is complete and filed.
Communication & Customer Service
- Serve as primary point of contact for repair status updates to customers and internal teams.
- Liaise with engineering, quality control, and supply chain departments to resolve issues.
- Communicate delays, cost changes, and technical findings promptly.
Compliance & Quality
- Ensure repairs meet all FAA Part 145, EASA, and OEM specifications.
- Coordinate with QC Inspectors for required inspections and final release.
- Monitor vendor performance to ensure adherence to contractual and regulatory requirements.
Cost Control & Reporting
- Review vendor quotes for accuracy and competitiveness.
- Monitor repair costs against budget and report variances.
- Provide weekly status reports to management.
Qualifications
Required:
- 3 years of experience in aviation engine repair, component repair coordination, or MRO operations.
- Knowledge of commercial turbine engine models (e.g., V2500, RB211).
- Familiarity with FAA/EASA regulations, repair manuals, and service bulletins.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRO tracking systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred:
- Experience in a Part 145 repair station environment.
- Understanding of engine disassembly/assembly processes.
Work Environment
- Primarily office-based within the MRO or engine shop environment.
- Frequent interaction with shop floor personnel, inspectors, and customers.
- Occasional travel to vendors or customer sites.
