Bookkeeper

Our client fast-growing investment and lending company based in Aventura is hiring a full-time Accountant to build and lead our internal accounting department. This is a fully in-office role and requires someone capable of creating structure, implementing systems, and independently managing the full accounting cycle.

About the Role

You will be responsible for establishing the entire accounting function from the ground up. This includes selecting and implementing the accounting software, designing workflows, running the full monthly close cycle, preparing year-end financial statements, and delivering final financials and balance sheets directly to the tax preparer.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and implement the company’s accounting software and internal accounting systems

• Create accounting procedures, policies, and internal controls

• Manage full monthly accounting cycles, including:

• Bookkeeping

• AP/AR

• Bank & credit card reconciliations

• Accruals & adjusting entries

• Month-end close

• Prepare complete year-end financial statements and supporting schedules

• Deliver finalized financials and balance sheets directly to external tax preparers

• Generate monthly financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)

• Assist leadership with budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow planning

• Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal requirements

• Support lending and investment operations with accurate internal reporting

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)

• Experience running full monthly accounting cycles (required)

CPA preferred

• Experience preparing year-end financial statements (required)

• 3 years of professional accounting experience

• Strong understanding of GAAP

• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail

• Proficiency in Excel

• Must be able to work in-office Monday–Friday in Hallandale/Aventura
