Position Summary:
The Business Development Representative plays a critical role in achieving Birthright Israel's mission by recruiting Jewish young adults to participate in transformative trips to Israel, internships, fellowships, and volunteer opportunities. The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader with a passion for community engagement and experience managing programs and events. This role involves direct recruitment efforts at universities and within local Jewish communities, onboarding and overseeing a network of student recruiters and conducting campus visits to maximize potential recruitment efforts.
The position also includes participation in nationwide initiatives and collaboration to meet organizational goals. The role is responsible for identifying and contacting potential participants, finding qualified leads, and generating new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Campus Recruitment and Engagement
- Conduct campus visits and recruitment initiatives both locally and nationally.
- Build and strengthen relationships with Jewish organizations on campus.
- Organize and participate in tabling events, info sessions, and other outreach activities on campuses.
- Strategically maximize recruitment efforts on campus by leveraging student networks, events, and partnerships.
2. Recruiter Outreach and Engagement
- Identify, recruit, and onboard student recruiters to support campus and community outreach efforts.
- Organize and facilitate training sessions/info sessions to equip recruiters with the necessary tools and knowledge.
- Oversee the execution of recruitment initiatives by providing guidance and ensuring alignment with overall goals.
3. Young Lead Generation and Community Partnerships
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Jewish high schools, summer camps, and alumni-serving organizations (e.g., BBYO) to generate interest in Birthright Israel opportunities.
- Actively engage with educators, camp directors, and young leaders to introduce programs, provide recruitment resources, and create pipelines of prospective participants.
- Organize and lead information sessions, presentations, and workshops tailored for teens and their families to ensure smooth transition into future Birthright trips. Develop year-round communication strategies to nurture young leads and maintain visibility within these partner communities.
4. Nationwide Collaboration
- Participate in and represent Birthright Israel at nationwide events and conferences.
- Work collaboratively with the Director of Recruitment Growth to share the best practices and align strategies for each event.
Qualifications:
- Passion for Birthright Israel's Mission: A strong commitment to connecting young Jews to Israel and their Jewish identity.
- Experience in Recruitment/Engagement: Proven success in recruitment, community engagement, or program coordination, preferably within Jewish or university settings.
- Event Planning and Execution: Demonstrated ability to organize and execute successful events.
- Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with colleagues, stakeholders, and community partners.
- CRM: Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms.
- Flexibility and Travel: Willingness to travel regionally and nationally, with some trips requiring weekend work.
- Location Requirement: This role is based in New York, and the candidate must be able to work from the office at least 4 days a week
Salary : $70,000 - $80,000
