Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor to join our dealership team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers needing vehicle maintenance and repairs, ensuring a seamless service experience. This role requires strong automotive knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Experience in dealership operations and auto service management is highly preferred. The Service Advisor will coordinate with technicians to deliver quality service, upsell additional repairs when appropriate, and maintain high customer satisfaction levels.
Duties
- Greet customers promptly and professionally, establishing rapport and understanding their vehicle concerns.
- Explain recommended services and repairs clearly, providing accurate auto estimating and service writing.
- Coordinate with technicians to schedule repairs and ensure timely completion of work.
- Upsell additional services such as oil changes, tire services, alignments, suspension work, brake repairs, transmission services, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, air brake systems, auto body repairs, and other automotive diagnostics.
- Manage vehicle repair orders from start to finish, including parts ordering and documentation.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments efficiently.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing questions and concerns professionally.
- Maintain detailed records of all service activities and communicate effectively with customers regarding vehicle status.
- Assist in promoting automotive sales when applicable by providing product information and financing options.
Qualifications
- Proven dealership experience or background in auto service management is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, repair procedures, and mechanical systems such as transmissions, oil changes, alignments, suspension systems, tire services, brake repair, diesel engines, shocks & struts, air brakes, and auto body repair.
- Experience with auto estimating software and service writing is preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to upsell services tactfully.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with experience working alongside service technicians is advantageous.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Automotive repair or mechanic experience is a plus for understanding technical issues deeply.
