Sourcing Agent
Classification: Exempt

Summary
Sourcing Agent will identify, evaluate, and manage supplier relationships, negotiate favorable terms, and ensure a reliable supply of fasteners that meet our quality and cost standards. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of fasteners, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain strong supplier partnerships
Essential Functions/Duties
- Review quote packages and identify sourcing opportunities
- Maintain Quote Log & complete accurate quote opportunities
- Research and identify potential suppliers of fasteners
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure the most optimal deals
- Build and nurture strong and collaborative relationships with key suppliers
- Monitor supplier performance, quality, and on-time delivery.
- Resolve supplier related issues and discrepancies effectively.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and fastener technology advancements.

Physical/Cognitive Demands
This is a largely sedentary role; however, walking long distances (over uneven surfaces) to/within our production facility is required. Position also requires the ability to lift boxes, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. Cognitive abilities required include deductive reasoning, information ordering, oral comprehension, oral expression, problem sensitivity, written comprehension, and written expression.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position.
Required Education and Experience
- 4-year degree or 1 -2 years of industry experience. An equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered.
Preferred Education and Experience
- 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role preferred. Experience in the steel industry is a plus.
- Manufacturing and Sales organization experience is preferred.
