Duties
- Constantly observe pool areas to identify potential safety hazards and enforce water safety rules
- Respond promptly and effectively to water emergencies, including water rescues and medical incidents
- Administer first aid, CPR, AED operation, and basic life support when necessary to stabilize injured or ill guests
- Conduct routine pool maintenance tasks such as cleaning filters, skimming debris, and maintaining water clarity and chemical balance
- Provide exceptional guest services by assisting visitors with pool rules, directions, and general inquiries
- Educate guests on water safety protocols and offer water safety instruction to children and adults alike
- Perform regular inspections of aquatic facilities to ensure compliance with public safety procedures and maintain a safe environment
Skills
- Proven experience working as a lifeguard or in aquatic facility supervision with current lifeguard certification
- Strong swimming skills with the ability to perform water rescue responses confidently under pressure
- Knowledge of first aid protocols, CPR, AED operation, and medical emergency response procedures
- Ability to handle heavy lifting involved in pool cleaning supplies and equipment maintenance
- Experience working with children and providing water safety instruction in a friendly, approachable manner
- Familiarity with pool maintenance including chemical testing, filtration system checks, and general pool cleaning
- Excellent customer service skills combined with a proactive attitude toward public safety procedures
