Position Overview

The Financial & Market Analysis Associate plays a critical analytical support role for Third-Party (3P) business development and portfolio performance. This position partners closely with Business Development, Operations, and clients to develop pro-form budgets, evaluate underwriting and business plans, and deliver market-driven insights that support new management proposals and improve the performance of existing 3P engagements.

This role is not part of the Investments team and does not focus on acquisitions; rather, it is a client-facing, analytics-driven role designed to support 3P proposal development, onboarding, and ongoing performance optimization. This position will report directly to the Vice President of Business Development and Client Services.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Analysis & Budgeting

• Prepare detailed pro forma operating budgets for 3P clients during the proposal phase and finalized budgets upon management acquisition.
• Review client underwriting models and business plans, providing feedback, risk considerations, and performance recommendations.
• Assist with ad-hoc financial modeling, benchmarking, and reporting related to 3P initiatives.
• Maintain consistency and accuracy across financial assumptions, market data, and proposal materials.
  
  

Market Analysis & Performance Optimization

• Conduct market and submarket analyses to support redevelopment strategies and operational improvement plans.
• Develop data-driven recommendations to improve the financial and operational performance of existing 3P properties.
  
  

Business Partnership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Business Development and Operations to align budgets with realistic operational assumptions.
• Support proposal development by ensuring alignment between financial models, market insights, and operational strategy.
  
  

Client Engagement & Presentation

• Participate in and contribute to client calls, including presenting budgets, reviewing financial performance, and supporting proposal discussions.
  
  

Education, Experience, And Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Business, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in financial analysis, asset management, underwriting, or real estate analytics.
• Strong proficiency in Excel financial modeling, budgeting, and scenario analysis.
• Experience with multifamily operations, asset management, or third-party management strongly preferred.
• Ability to translate complex financial data into clear, client-friendly insights.
• Comfortable participating in client-facing discussions and presenting financial information.
• Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
