As the first point of contact, you will be responsible for greeting guests, managing reservations, and coordinating seating arrangements with efficiency and warmth. Duties
- Greet guests promptly with a friendly and professional demeanor to make them feel valued from the moment they arrive
- Manage reservations and waitlists using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS to optimize seating flow
- Coordinate with the service team to assign tables efficiently, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal wait times
- Answer guest inquiries via phone or in person, providing clear information about wait times, menu options, and restaurant policies
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host station, including menus, reservation books, and waiting area
- Assist in managing guest flow during busy periods to enhance overall guest experience
- Support team members with guest services, including accommodating special requests and addressing concerns promptly
Requirements
- Previous host/hostess experience or food service background preferred but not required; enthusiasm for hospitality is key
- Strong communication skills with a friendly phone etiquette and ability to engage with diverse guests
- Experience with restaurant POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous
- Knowledge of guest services, hospitality standards, and restaurant operations is highly desirable
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism
- Excellent interpersonal skills to foster positive guest relations and teamwork
- Prior hotel or guest services experience is a plus but not mandatory
