MRI Technologist – Luxury Full Body MRI (PRN only/1099 position)

Birdsong is a high-end wellness and longevity sanctuary offering advanced full body MRI as part of a comprehensive preventive and restorative care experience. We are seeking an experienced MRI Technologist who thrives in a calm, luxury environment and is passionate about delivering a high-touch, patient-centered experience.

Position overview:

• Roles available: PRN/1099 MRI Technologist
• Typical hours: Monday–Friday, approximately 8:00 am–5:00 pm (flexible within those hours by arrangement)
• Start date: TBD
• Modality: Full body MRI only (no ER, no trauma, no nights, no weekends)
• System: Siemens Magnetom Espree 1.5T large-bore MRI with AV/TV system

You will be the primary MRI professional on site, responsible for both exceptional imaging and stewardship of the MRI environment.

What you’ll do:

• Perform high-quality full body MRI exams according to established protocols and safety standards.
• Deliver a high-touch, concierge-level experience: greet patients, thoroughly explain the process, address concerns, and ensure comfort throughout the study.
• Manage daily MRI workflow with a target of approximately 5-6 full body scans per day while preserving a calm, unhurried atmosphere.
• Operate and optimize the Siemens Espree 1.5T system, including appropriate coil selection, positioning, and protocol adjustments as needed.
• Maintain MRI safety and compliance, including screening for contraindications, implants, and foreign bodies, and enforcing all zone and access controls.
• Oversee all MRI-related equipment and the MRI suite, including basic quality control, troubleshooting, and coordinating service when needed.
• Accurately document and finalize studies, ensuring complete and timely image transmission and exam notes.
• Collaborate closely with the medical director to refine full body MRI protocols and continuously improve the patient journey.

What we’re looking for:

• MRI Technologist with significant independent MRI experience; no new graduates for this role.
• Strong experience and confidence working on a 1.5T system (Siemens experience strongly preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to provide a luxury, sanctuary-style experience while maintaining clinical rigor.
• Comfortable operating as the go-to MRI professional, owning both technical and operational aspects of the MRI area.
• Excellent communication skills, professional demeanor, and genuine interest in wellness, prevention, and longevity medicine.

Required credentials

• Current MRI certification (ARRT(MR) or equivalent).
• Active South Carolina Radiologic Technologist license in good standing (or clear eligibility with prompt licensure prior to start).

Compensation and benefits

• Pay range: $37–$49 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
