Role Title: Scheduler II
Location: Portland, CT
Direct Manager: Program Manager
Pay Range: $68,000 - $80,000 per year
SUMMARY:
The Scheduler II will be responsible for assisting the Supervisor/Master Scheduler in the development of an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS). Once developed the Scheduler II will be responsible for weekly and monthly progress updates as well as maintain a monthly BCR log. The Scheduler II will regularly coordinate with the program team and provide progress updates.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Supervisor/Master Scheduler in the creation of an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) using Primavera P6 based on MIL STD 881C.
- Applies appropriate coding to all activities based on SWBS and Company standards.
- Assigns budgets to planning packages in the schedule based on Program Manager approved budgets.
- Assign budgets to SWBS Codes with Supervisor support.
- Assists in the development of work packages, once defined, and creation/removal of activities in the schedule to create appropriate activities.
- Applies weekly and monthly progress updates to the working schedule for engineering, production, management team, supply chain and sub-contractors.
- Apply change order activities to the schedule.
- Supports ADHOC requests requiring scheduling support.
QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES:
ESSENTIAL
- Minimum 1 year scheduling in Primavera P6
- Strong MS Office Skills
- Understanding of time cycle process for updating progressing
- Ability to work independently and collectively with the Program Team
DESIRABLE
- Experience with shipbuilding
Relationships:
This position is based in Portland, CT and will report to the Program Manager. Birdon’s senior management team, including Divisional Managers, may provide additional direction and duties from time to time.
Clear communication and interpersonal skills are necessary as direct contact with Birdon clients, prospective clients, and production team is an important aspect of this position. It is your responsibility to ensure that the Company’s values and interests are maintained during all internal and external communications.
Working Conditions:
- This role will require minimal travel (<10%).
- As Birdon operates marine manufacturing facilities, there may be exposure to dust, fumes, airborne particles, temperature extremes, and elevated noise levels. All Birdon’s health, safety, environment, and quality policies must be followed to protect yourself, your work colleagues, and the environment.
- Employees must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
