Our Painters are an integral piece of our work on a daily basis. Some of your daily functions will include:
- Manage and direct all activities conducted by blast and paint personnel and/or subcontractors within company policies and procedures to ensure conformance to quality, budget, and schedule.
- Manages key employee activities for all direct reports (timekeeping, job assignments, mentoring, supervision, etc.) and ensure all employees have all necessary tools, equipment, work procedures, etc. to work safely and efficiently.
- Develop and prioritize necessary resources and steps required to accomplish goal on schedule and within budget.
- Develop coating plans based on contract specifications, drawings, and paint manufacturer requirements for surface preparation and paint application to interior and external structures, piping, and equipment.
- Work with Facilities Department and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) Department to establish blasting and painting equipment, consumable, and measurement and test tool calibration, storage, maintenance, and safety guidelines.
- Work with production, quality assurance, regulation authorities, and/or subcontractors to review and update all blasting and coating procedures, work instructions, forms, and reports.
- Review and interpret designs, construction drawings, work packages, and specifications to meet contract requirements to ensure vessel is being blast and coated effectively and efficiently.
- Work with Scheduling, Planning, and Production to facilitate the closure of Work Packages and outfitting concerns to plan each project, monitor their progress, conduct quality checks / holds, conduct reviews, and maintain all blasting and coating reports for regulator and customer review and approvals.
If you have at least 5 years’ of supervisor experience in shipbuilding and are certified BCI/NACE/SSPC Level II Operator or willing to attend SSPC Quality Control Supervisor course and achieve SSPC Level III Coatings Specialist designation, we want to talk to you!
