Project Designer / Architect

Birdhouse Architecture is a design-focused architecture & interiors firm, seeking talented design professionals to join our Savannah, GA studio. As part of our small team, candidates can expect to participate in all facets of the building design process. Ideal candidates have experience in grocery retail, hospitality, and/or bar & restaurant design; experience in mixed-use projects is a plus.

Role

We are looking for a talented and dedicated Project Designer / Architect, interested in collaboration, professional development, and designing high quality spaces.

Responsibilities

• Develop creative design solutions and clearly detail them for construction
• Concept research & development, space planning, finish selections, and detailing of special architectural features
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients

Requirements

• 2 years of production experience in an architecture firm
• Professional degree in architecture from an accredited program, on the path to licensure or licensed
• Highly proficient in Revit, CAD, Sketchup, Bluebeam and Adobe Suite software
• Technical understanding of building systems and construction documentation
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Able to collaborate effectively and enthusiastically with coworkers, consultants, and clients
• Permitted to work in the US without employer-sponsored visa

About our firm

Birdhouse Architecture was founded in 2019 in Austin, TX, with the goal of creating a workplace that reflects modern values (i.e. work-life balance, fairness and transparency in wages, and equality for gender, race, sexual orientation, etc.). In 2020 we opened our Savannah, GA office where we currently have 5 employees. Though our firm is small, we do a large volume of work for commercial clients, with locations across the US. Additionally, we are working on developing more local projects in Savannah, including boutique grocery stores, restaurants, bars, and mixed-use developments.

• Salary range $65k to $105k per year, depending on experience, plus performance and annual bonuses
