Role Description The Back of House team member is a full-time, on-site role located in Boulder, CO. This position is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items according to Birdcall’s recipes and standards, including handling fryers, grills, and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Day-to-day tasks include maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, following food safety and sanitation procedures, rotating and stocking inventory, and assisting with opening and closing duties. The role also involves coordinating with front-of-house staff to ensure timely order fulfillment, managing ticket times during peak hours, and supporting teammates to deliver consistent, high-quality food and service.
Qualifications
- Experience working in a back-of-house or kitchen environment, preferably in quick-service or fast-casual restaurants.
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques, food preparation, and safe operation of kitchen equipment.
- Understanding of food safety, sanitation standards, and proper handling and storage of ingredients.
- Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
- Collaborative mindset, clear communication skills, and ability to work well within a diverse team.
- Reliability in attendance, flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays, and ability to stand for extended periods.
