Role Description:
Provide daily HR generalist support to the company: Benefit administration, HRIS maintenance, staffing, leave management and compliance. Assist in recruiting, onboarding, training, team building, and serve as HR resource for employees and managers.
This position is supporting HR in a manufacturing environment and requires 70% onsite work.
GENERAL FUNCTIONS / SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Promote the Bird Family Values through your actions – Trust, Innovation, Teamwork, Achievement and Accountability.
2. Be able to describe the quality policy and goals, your contribution to quality, and the effects of not observing quality and customer requirements.
3. Design and prepare reports for Human Resources, company management/departments and outside vendors - recurring and per custom request.
4. Information maintenance: personnel, medical, training, benefit files – set up, maintain and update.
5. Serve as resource for, and track and maintain information on leave of absences - medical, personal and FMLA.
6. Benefits Administration; Medical, life & STD/LTD (disability policies), dental, vision and flex spending - administer enrollment, changes, cancellations – process & maintain forms and benefit information, ensure deductions correct with Payroll. COBRA administration.
7. Generate or reconcile monthly benefit invoices – make any necessary annual salary and/or cost adjustments.
8. Help plan and carry out annual open enrollment.
9. Assist with employee relations issues.
10. Assist with annual merit process, review comp grades.
11. Post job openings, review resumes, set up interviews.
12. Onboard new employees, process new hire paperwork
13. I-9, ITAR/EVerify, HIPPA, COBRA, EEO/AAP, BWC, OSHA, FMLA etc. – help ensure company complies with required federal and state postings, reporting, form retention, etc.
14. Help carry out Annual Performance Review serving as point of contact for assistance on process.
15. Participate in annual company handbook review & update.
16. Employee Services and Relations, Plan and carry out company meetings & special events. Service Awards.
17. Support Training, Safety & Wellness Team Initiatives.
18. Serve as back up to Payroll when needed.
19. Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
BA/BS in Human Resources, or Business related degree.
MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) proficiency.
Attention to detail
Data management
HRIS proficiency (ADP Workforce Now preferred)
Organization and time management
Basic knowledge of employment laws and HR practices
Desired Experience: 1-3 years HR experience
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
