Lead Painter

Overview

Bird's Painting Company is seeking a dedicated Journeyman Painter to join our team.

As a Lead Painter, your role is to lead and support the team during projects.

Tasks revolve around completing projects in a professional and timely manner, mitigating problems and accidents, moving materials and ladders, keeping the jobsite organized and clean, maintaining/ operating pumps, assisting with or teaching painting and cleanup.

The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, be able to follow work orders/ scopes and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. We need a reliable, detail oriented Lead ; who can lift 50 lbs. frequently and is not shy of heights. Bird's Painting focuses on high-quality finishes while adhering to safety standards and project timelines; we need a candidate who is teachable to our ways and culture, yet understands the painting process and is already a skilled painter. Is willing to compromise, take accountability and work; all with a good, professional attitude.

Must be 21 years or older to apply. Must Have I.D. and be willing to take a drug test if asked.

4 Years of commercial or residential painting required.

Duties

• Managing and completing projects on time and budget, either on your own or managing a small crew, project depending.
• Operating and maintain painting equipment provided by BPC.
• Jobsite organization, daily site setup/cleanup.
• Pressure washing and hand cleaning surfaces.
• Painting assistance, Including teaching new hires, refilling paint in pumps, moving Ladders and safely using them.
• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, patching, sanding, priming as necessary.
• Painting surfaces with proper techniques, using airless sprayers and/or brush and roll methods.
• Personal responsibility and accountability; making sure the job is being done correctly and to the best of your ability, upholding company standards.
• Communicate effectively with team members to complete projects efficiently while maintaining quality standards.

Please be ready to provide at least two good references.

• 4 Years experience in the Painting Industry.
• Able to lift 50 pounds frequently, often while bending and reaching.
• Positive and Professional attitude, with an ability to lead.
• Able to reliably drive to jobsites and carry your own tools.
• Familiarity with painting and airless pumps is required.
• Proficiency in using hand tools safely and effectively.
• Knowledge of industrial and residential painting practices is required.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to work well within a team environment and alone.

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
