What are the responsibilities and job description for the In-House Private Label Clothing Developer position at Bird Rock Surf Shop?
Bird Rock Surf Shop is looking for a motivated, positive, people-oriented team member to help support our private label clothing production and in-house graphic design needs. This is a hands-on role in a core local surf shop that values great energy, creativity, and community.
What You’ll Do
- Assist with private label apparel design, development, and production
- Handle miscellaneous graphic design work (tees, hats, signage, web, print, etc.)
- Support social media and website updates as needed
- Provide excellent customer service and help on the retail floor
- Assist with clerical tasks and light shop cleaning / organization
- Collaborate with the Bird Rock team on new ideas and brand projects
What We’re Looking For
- A motivated, positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Great with people — friendly, approachable, and dependable
- Must surf or be deeply familiar with surf culture, styles, and brands
- Comfortable doing a variety of tasks — no job too small
- Advanced graphic design skills (Adobe, Canva, or similar)
- Interest or experience in apparel, product development, or branding is a big plus
