Birch & Willow Spa is seeking an experienced, professional, and motivated Lead Massage Therapist to help guide and support our growing massage department.

This position is ideal for a seasoned therapist who is passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences, mentoring others, and contributing to the growth and success of a luxury spa environment. The Lead Massage Therapist serves as a leader within the department, helping maintain service standards, support team development, and foster a positive, professional culture.

Required Qualifications

• Current Missouri Massage Therapy License
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a licensed Massage Therapist
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to mentor, coach, and support newer therapists
• Dependable, flexible, and solution-oriented

Lead Massage Therapist ResponsibilitiesGuest Care & Service Excellence

• Provide exceptional massage therapy services tailored to each guest’s needs
• Maintain treatment room cleanliness and sanitation standards
• Educate guests on treatment recommendations and wellness goals
• Recommend retail products and treatment plans when appropriate
• Uphold the highest standards of guest care and professionalism

Leadership & Team Development

• Serve as a mentor and resource for massage therapists
• Assist with onboarding and training new team members
• Support continuing education and skill development within the department
• Help maintain service consistency and quality standards
• Lead by example through professionalism, positivity, and accountability

Department Support

• Assist with inventory management and supply organization
• Help identify operational improvements within the massage department
• Participate in social media content creation and promotional initiatives as needed
• Attend leadership meetings, trainings, and team development opportunities
• Collaborate with management to support spa goals and team success

Employment Structure & Compensation

• Commission and gratuity on services rendered
• Hourly compensation for meetings, training, and leadership responsibilities
• Overtime calculated using the weighted average method
• Commission on retail sales
