Job Title: Cook / Culinary Grad – Summer Camp (Housing Included)
About Birch Trail Camp:
Birch Trail Camp is a traditional overnight camp for girls ages 7–15, located in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. We serve approximately 230 campers and 140 staff in a fun, supportive, and community-focused environment. Staff often describe their experience as “the summer of a lifetime.”
Position Overview (Perfect for Recent Grads):
We are hiring a Cook for the summer—ideal for a recent culinary school graduate or early-career cook looking to gain real, hands-on experience.
This is a cooking-focused role (not management). You’ll work alongside an experienced Kitchen Manager and focus on food preparation, execution, and quality in a high-volume kitchen serving ~350 people daily.
This is a great opportunity to build confidence, speed, and consistency while being supported and mentored.
What You’ll Do:
- Prepare and cook meals for a large camp community
- Focus on food quality, consistency, and presentation
- Follow menus and assist with daily meal execution
- Help accommodate basic dietary needs (vegetarian, gluten-free, etc.)
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen
- Work as part of a team to keep service running smoothly
What We’re Looking For:
- Recent culinary school grad or 1–2 years of kitchen experience
- Strong interest in growing as a cook/chef
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Reliable, hardworking, and detail-oriented
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
