What are the responsibilities and job description for the FIRST and THIRD SHIFT CAREGIVER position at Birch Run Fields Assisted Living?
We are looking for a dependable and compassionate caregiver to join our team. In this role, you’ll provide hands-on support and meaningful connection to residents in a warm, home-like environment.

What You’ll Do
- Support residents with daily routines including personal care, hygiene, and mobility
- Assist with medication reminders and follow care plans
- Help with meals, including preparation and encouragement with eating
- Maintain a clean, comfortable living environment (light housekeeping & laundry)
- Engage with residents through conversation, activities, and companionship
- Monitor for any changes in condition and communicate concerns promptly
- Follow safety procedures and respond appropriately in urgent situations
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in caregiving is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person
- Kind, patient, and respectful approach to resident care
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to follow directions and stay organized throughout the shift
- Dependable with good time management
- Willingness to learn and follow health and safety guidelines
- Physically able to assist residents as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CPR/First Aid (or willingness to obtain)
