What are the responsibilities and job description for the Baker position at Birch Hill English Muffins?
Birch Hill English Muffins is growing! After operating as a cottage bakery since 2022, we’re preparing to move to a brand-new bakery in Colchester in late April/early May 2026. Our production is set to increase, and we are looking for a baker to join the crew!
While we’d love to find a candidate with previous baking experience, we’re also open to training the right person. The right candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, a desire to learn and collaborate, and be a team player who is willing to assist with all duties around the bakery. This position will begin as a part-time position (20-30 hrs/week) with the possibility of full-time based on the growth of the business.
Responsibilities
· Bake English muffins, balancing efficiency with attention to detail
· Assist with final packaging of products
· Support food production tasks including mixing, shaping, and handling dough in accordance with food safety protocols
· Maintain cleanliness of the bakery, including dishwashing and general cleaning
· Follow recipes and learn to make adjustments as needed
Qualifications
· Experience in bread baking or related field is preferred, but not required
· Knowledge of or willingness to learn food safety protocols
· Ability to work efficiently and safely while maintaining quality
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
· Ability to stay on feet for 8 hour shift (with required breaks)
· Must be 21
