Summary:
We are currently seeking a Per Diem CRMA/PSS to join our team. This position is ideal for individuals looking for flexible scheduling while still playing a vital role in resident care. The CRMA/PSS is responsible for the administration of medication, communication with health care providers, and ensuring accuracy of physician orders. This role also includes providing hands-on care and services to meet identified resident needs. Responsibilities include coordination with other staff, implementing the interdisciplinary service plan, reporting changes in resident condition, and documenting residents’ ability to perform self-care. The CRMA/PSS observes, documents, and reports all aspects of resident activities of daily living, health status, and compliance with physician orders to ensure appropriate level of care and placement. This position works under the direction of the Residential Care Coordinator and with guidance from the RN to maintain the highest levels of physical, psychological, social, and spiritual well-being in accordance with the resident service plan and current standards of care.

Requirements
Education, Training or Certifications Required:
- PSS certification in good standing
Experience Required:
- One or more years of experience in geriatrics
- Familiarity with memory loss care
Special Requirements:
- BLS certification within 120 days of hire
- Basic computer skills preferred
Cognitive Requirements:
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing; additional languages preferred
- Ability to perform well under stress, prioritize tasks, multitask, and follow through
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand/work for most of an 8–12 hour shift
- Must be able to bend/lift 25–55 lbs. (e.g., assisting residents in and out of bed)
Work Environment:
- Potential exposure to blood, body fluids, contagious diseases
- Potential for periods of high stress
Per Diem Work Expectations:
Per diem CRMA/PSS staff are expected to maintain active employment by working a minimum of 48 hours every 90 days. To meet this requirement:
- At least 24 hours must be worked on weekends
- At least 8 hours must include one recognized winter holiday and one summer holiday
- Remaining hours may be scheduled flexibly, including weekdays, weekends, or holidays
Per diem shifts are offered after full-time and part-time staff have been scheduled. If no shifts are available during the scheduling period, staff may be contacted for unplanned or last-minute openings. In cases where no shifts are available during the 90-day period, the hour requirement may be waived. However, if shifts are offered and declined, the 48-hour requirement remains in effect. Failure to meet this requirement may result in a 30-day notice of intent to terminate employment due to non-availability.
