The Speech-Language Pathologist will assess, treat, and manage a caseload of students with speech and language disorders while developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and providing evidence-based therapy services.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations and assessments.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with student needs and IEP goals.
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students.
- Support students with articulation, expressive/receptive language, fluency, voice, social communication, and other communication needs.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation, reports, and service records.
- Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, and multidisciplinary planning sessions.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, special education staff, families, and related service providers.
- Select and implement appropriate assessment tools and evidence-based intervention strategies.
- Provide recommendations for communication supports and accommodations.
- Maintain compliance with school, state, and federal requirements.
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program required.
- Active Virginia Speech-Language Pathologist license required (or ability to obtain).
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred.
- School-based or pediatric experience preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
- School-based setting supporting students with diverse communication needs.
