- 1 Resource Special Education Teacher – Provide specialized academic instruction and support to students in a resource setting.
- 1 Self-Contained Special Education Teacher – Provide individualized instruction and support in a self-contained classroom.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction based on students' individual needs and IEP goals.
- Develop and implement differentiated lessons, accommodations, and modifications.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation and progress reports.
- Implement effective classroom management and positive behavior support strategies.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, administrators, families, and related service providers.
- Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, professional development, and other school activities.
- Foster a structured, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
- Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and district special education requirements.
- Valid North Carolina Exceptional Children/Special Education teaching license or eligibility to obtain licensure.
- Experience working in resource and/or self-contained special education settings is a plus
- Strong classroom management and differentiated instruction skills.
- Ability to develop and implement effective IEP-based instruction.
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to support students with diverse learning and developmental needs.
- Full-time, school-based positions in Kannapolis, NC.
- Choice of resource or self-contained classroom setting, based on experience and preference.
- Collaborative multidisciplinary school environment.
- Student-centered setting focused on academic growth, independence, and overall student success.
