Birch Agency is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our team
The Outpatient Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications to patients in an outpatient setting. This role supports daily pharmacy operations, ensures accurate medication processing, provides customer service, and maintains compliance with state and federal regulations.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Receive and process written, electronic, and verbal prescription orders
- Accurately enter prescription information into pharmacy software systems
- Prepare, label, and package medications under pharmacist supervision
- Process insurance claims and resolve billing issues
- Collect co-payments and handle cash register transactions
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare providers
- Answer phone calls and direct inquiries appropriately
- Order supplies and medications as directed
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and pharmacy regulations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Assist with prior authorizations and medication assistance programs
- Support immunization workflow and medication therapy management programs when applicable
