Shift Time: 7:30 am- 4:00 pm
The Warehouse Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. This role manages inventory control, material handling, and the staging and delivery of materials to support production and customer requirements. The Warehouse Team Lead serves as a subject matter expert for the ERP system, and ensures the accurate virtual and physical movement of goods. Additionally, this position is accountable for maintaining a safe and organized work environment, training and developing warehouse personnel, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. This position collaborates cross-functionally with other departments, supports root cause investigations, and ensures the warehouse operates in alignment with corporate goals, quality standards, and customer expectations.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
In performance of his/her responsibilities, oversees the proper and timely service to operations.
- Warehouse Operations: Supervise day-to-day warehouse functions to ensure smooth workflow and operational accuracy.
- Capacity Planning: Ensure the warehouse layout and storage capacity support both internal and external customer requirements.
- Compliance & Safety: Maintain adherence to regulatory, quality, legal, and HR policies while promoting a hazard-free work environment.
- Inventory Management: Oversee the virtual transaction and physical movement of materials.
- ERP System Expertise: Serve as the subject matter expert for the ERP system (e.g., WMS, Oracle, ensuring accurate system transactions and user training.
- Material Staging: Manage the staging and movement of materials to support production and manufacturing work orders.
- Delivery & Distribution: Ensure timely, accurate, and complete delivery of materials to production and customers.
- Storage & Handling: Monitor the correct storage of materials and apply general warehousing principles to minimize damage or loss.
- Shelf-Life & Obsolete Inventory: Partner with QA to monitor shelf-life programs and non-moving or obsolete inventory.
- Investigations & RCA: Perform investigations and contribute to root cause analysis for inventory or process discrepancies.
- Training & Development: Train personnel on ERP/warehouse systems and supervise the MHE operator training program.
- Team Leadership: Mentor, guide, and evaluate warehouse material handlers to encourage performance and career growth.
- KPI Tracking: Measure and report on warehouse performance using defined Key Performance Indicators.
- Policy Implementation: Enforce and implement company directives, processes, and policies consistently.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with other department leads to ensure integrated and efficient operations.
Job Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience: 3 years in warehouse supervision or lead roles, preferably in manufacturing or distribution.
- Systems: Proficiency with ERP systems (Oracle preferred), and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of inventory systems, material flow, and warehousing best practices.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and operate or supervise the use of material handling equipment.
- Work Environment: In-office position; occasional extended hours may be required to meet operational needs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
