Duties
- Safely operate and maintain your own vehicle(s) to complete delivery routes efficiently.
- Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment such as hand truck or dolly, temperature regulated satchels or coolers when necessary, ensuring items are handled with care.
- Navigate assigned routes confidently, adhering to traffic laws and company policies to ensure timely deliveries.
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with clients during drop-offs and pickups.
- Verify delivery details, obtain signatures when required, and document all transactions accurately.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform routine inspections to ensure safety standards are met at all times.
- Manage paperwork related to deliveries, including logs, route sheets, and incident reports if needed.
- Handle heavy lifting and moving tasks as required to load or unload cargo safely.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers or coordinators regarding route updates or delivery issues.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and adherence to load limits.
- Maintain a clean a background and motor vehicle record
Experience
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, preferably in the medical field
- Strong background in customer service with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Familiarity with hospital and laboratory systems.
- Knowledge of route planning and navigation tools to optimize delivery efficiency.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with moving goods safely.
- Valid driver’s license suitable for operating commercial vehicles
