What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Community Coordinator position at Biotia?
Overview:
We’re looking for a part-time Patient Community Coordinator to support day-to-day operational needs, with a focus on kit shipping, coordinating sample movement, and social media content. This role will support the Ops team and help keep our consumer-initiated testing workflows running smoothly while building our patient community. This position will report to the Senior Operations Manager.
Time Commitment: Part-time (20 hours/week)
Compensation: $28–$30/hour
Location: NYC (hybrid)
Responsibilities
Operations and Logistic Support (50%):
- Prepare, package, and ship testing kits to consumers and clinics
- Coordinate sample pickups and returns, including from clinics and labs as needed; track shipments and resolve delays or issues.
- Maintain operational logs and customer support logistics workflows in HIPAA compliant patient communication platform (Spruce) and future integrations
- Assist with light administrative tasks and support smooth handoffs with the Ops team and CIT PM
- Provide customer support as needed including answering customer calls and providing phone, email, and text support to help them with their orders
Social Media Support (50%):
- Develop engaging, educational, and growth-focused social media content across platforms following brand guidelines
- Manage a content calendar, track post performance, and identify trends, news, and competitor activity relevant to Biotia
- Monitor and respond to social media interactions, escalating negative feedback to the Product Marketing Manager as needed
Qualifications
- Knowledge of infectious diseases, diagnostic testing, and/or public health communications
- Experience using Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and video editing software for social media, such as CapCut
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Comfortable managing logistics, tracking, and follow-ups
- Strong communicator and responsive to changing priorities
- Prior ops, logistics, or admin experience preferred (startup experience a plus)
- Customer support or hospitality experience a plus
- Patient privacy experience a plus
- This is an entry- to mid-level position with opportunity for growth
