What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Assistant/Driver position at BioTek reMEDys?
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the ability to work as part of a team as well as independently. Logistics Assistants/Delivery Drivers must be able to learn our Inventory Procedures and develop working knowledge of our therapies and medications to be able to effectively work with our pharmacy team to pull stock and pack our deliveries. This position will learn correct policies and procedures for packing for home driver deliveries as well as FEDEX shipments. Familiarity with computer based inventory systems is a necessity for this position. Maintaining organization of our inventory as well as competently receiving and processing our orders is integral to this position. Our Assistants/Drivers are responsible for a variety of miscellaneous pharmacy related tasks and also share in the daily maintenance of the pharmacy area with the other pharmacy team members.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position is located in our general pharmacy area.
The delivery part of this position will require driving in one of our delivery vehicles in order to complete hands on patient and provider office deliveries.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
May sit, stand, stoop, bend, walk and drive intermittently during the day. May sit or stand seven (7) to ten (10) hours per day. May be necessary to work extended hours as needed, based on the needs of the pharmacy and patients. Must be able to lift at least fifty pounds. Must be able to assist in large deliveries as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Driver’s License and Valid Auto Insurance is required.
- Prior experience in the delivery driver field is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary.
- Prior experience with providing customer service and prior work in healthcare environment a plus.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize, excellent time management skills.
- Detail oriented and possess the ability to creatively problem solve.
- Self-motivated and capable to work with minimal instruction.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensuring patients receive their medications and supplies in a timely manner while providing exemplary and professional customer service.
- Work with pharmacy team and Logistics Manager on delivery routes to assure all medications are delivered in a timely manner.
- Delivers medications to various locations as instructed by the Logistics Manager.
- Obtains a signature from an authorized individual when making a delivery.
- Notes and reports any items that are not accepted during a delivery.
- Prepares and submits verbal reports and documentation regarding discrepancies, complaints or service requests to the Logistics Manager immediately upon receiving the information.
- Track and maintain an accurate log of deliveries made and/or attempted.
- Drives company vehicle in accordance with state and local traffic laws, reporting promptly any difficulties or issues that may arise with the driving vehicle.
- Maintains the driving vehicle in good working conditions.
- Ensure FedEx deliveries are packed correctly with attention to detail in following our policies and procedures.
- Strong ability to multi-task and organize workload for efficient use of time. Ability to work as part of pharmacy team and willingness to assist in whatever area you can be impactful for the pharmacy team growth and efficiency.
- Excellent communication skills involving listening and speaking.
Note:
- There is a 90-day probationary period.
- Background check and drug testing is required pre-employment.
- All drivers must maintain their driver's license and auto insurance in valid and good standing at all times.
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
